RESEARCH INTERESTs

Our group is primarily interested in utilizing the tools of proteomics to understand disease processes and discover new targets for protein-based diagnosis of disease and potential vaccine and therapeutic targets.

We are mainly interested in bacterial pathogenesis and identifying targets for intervention. Current projects focus on the Gram negative pathogens, Campylobacter jejuni (a major cause of human gastroenteritis) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (the major cause of morbidity and mortality in people with Cystic Fibrosis). For more information see our 'Current Projects' (below).

Professor Cordwell's research aligns with the Faculty of Science Research Strengths - Complex Systems, Future Foods.
