RESEARCH INTERESTs

I am currently lead investigator on three large projects (Templeton 2021-2026, Kids with Kids 2025-2027 and RESTORE 2026-2029 totalling approx. AU$5 million). I am also a senior investigator on three additional substantial projects (PROMISE 2025-2029,  SAPPHIRE 2024-2027 and GIFT 2025-2026 totalling approx. AU$17million) where I am leading the major social science work packages (including co-design formative phases, implementation science, equity, inclusion and community engagement) and a senior CI on a TB CRE, responsible for social science and community engagement.

My research is focused on demonstrating the epistemic value, and demonstrable impact, of community-based implementation science research to guide improving and sustaining, equitable health outcomes in HIV & TB and relatedly in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and mental health of adolescents. Through this portfolio I am committed to increasing the adoption of inclusive research practices in which knowledge justice and impact (for example peer- reviewed publications being accompanied by accessible and engaging communication of learning to those in affected communities and systems) are normative expectations of high quality and integrity in global health research.
