A/Prof McGuire is a dedicated educator and mentor, committed to training the next generation of immunologists. She has led curriculum development in advanced immunology and systemwide pathogen responses at the University of Sydney. Her teaching philosophy centres on integrating cutting-edge research technologies into the classroom, ensuring students gain practical exposure to "big data" analytics and single-cell proteomics. She has held primary or co-supervision roles for over 15 postgraduate and honours students, with her mentees frequently securing prestigious doctoral scholarships and industry placements. Beyond the university she provides international leadership in professional education as associate editor roles and through her work with the ISAC and ACS, developing global standards for cytometry education and training.
