Research projects & supervision summary
A/Prof McGuire leads a diverse portfolio of projects focused on the intersection of single-cell proteomics and clinical translation. Current major research projects include the development of predictive immune signatures for checkpoint inhibitor response in solid tumours, the exploration of the calcification–inflammation axis in cardiovascular disease, and the characterisation of paediatric cancer immunoprofiling. A dedicated mentor, A/Prof McGuire has supervised over 15 postgraduate and honours students to completion or current candidature. Her supervision approach emphasises technical excellence and professional development, with her students consistently securing competitive scholarships and awards. She actively fosters interdisciplinary collaborations, integrating her mentees into global research networks through her leadership roles in ISAC and the Australasian Cytometry Society.
