BIO

Dr Andrzej S. Januszewski is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the Sydney Pharmacy School and the Sydney Clinical Trials Centre. He is a medically trained researcher with a PhD in medical sciences, a Master of Clinical Trials Research from the University of Sydney, and postdoctoral training in chemistry and biochemistry undertaken as a Fulbright Fellow at the University of South Carolina.

His research focuses on the use of biomarkers, clinical trial biobanks, epidemiological data and translational tools to improve the understanding, prediction and management of diabetes and cardiovascular complications. He has extensive experience in the design and conduct of biomarker studies embedded within large clinical trials, including laboratory assay development, biospecimen governance, data analysis and interpretation.

Dr Januszewski leads the CTC Biomarkers Laboratory and contributes to the management and scientific use of one of Australia’s largest non-commercial clinical trial biobanks. His work spans molecular and biochemical biomarkers, diabetes complications, cardiovascular risk, socioeconomic determinants of health, and online research tools designed to support clinical and epidemiological analyses.
