RESEARCH INTERESTs

Andrea is a qualitative researcher in mental health approaches and services. She has a key interest in exploring the use of Open Dialogue, a need-adapted and recovery-focused approach to mental health care, in Australia. She is particularly interested in the introduction of Open Dialogue in non-clinical contexts, like school and community settings. Other areas of research interest include emotion regulation in healthcare students and professionals. Andrea’s higher degree research supervision incorporates supervising nurses in emergency and acute care settings in the use of qualitative methods, often as part of broader mixed methods research.
