LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy
TEACHING
Andrea has extensive experience coordinating and teaching units across pre-registration/undergraduate and postgraduate/specialty Masters programs. She has taught core subject areas of mental health nursing aiming to be inclusive of humane approaches and social constructionist perspectives, and supporting nurses to work in recovery-oriented and resource-promoting ways, She has also facilitated learning and development for expanded practice for experienced nurses across specialities, looking toward advanced practice roles. Andrea has additionally taught in the areas of communication, mentorship and leadership and emotional intelligence. She is significantly engaged in development, implementation and evaluation of pre-registration and postgraduate nursing curricula, and led the integration of Mental Health First Aid into pre-registration nursing curricula at Sydney Nursing School.
HIGHER EDUCATION ACADEMY - SENIOR FELLOWSHIP
Andrea is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. This provides recognition of her sustained record of effectiveness, incorporating the organisation, leadership and management of teaching and learning provision, with signiicant influence and impact on curriculum/ program design, implementation and evaluation, mentorship and supervision of educators, and departmental and institutional educational responsibilities.
