Carl is a registered nurse, registered pharmacist and university academic, with a broad range of experience across acute and community care settings, both in Australia and the United Kingdom. His research interest is patient safety via collaborative quality use of medicines, with a focus on primary care. Additional research interests include health services design, implementation and evaluation. Carl is the current Secretary of the Academic Section of the International Pharmacy Federation (FIP), Associate Editor for the Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy Journal (Q1) Chair of the Pharmacy discipline group of the Universitas 21 network. Carl completed his PhD in 2011 at the University of Western Australia and now has over 100 career total publications, primarily in the areas of health professional education, research methods, guideline development, implementation of health services and is the successful recipient of competitive research funding totalling over AUD$5,500,000. Carl is a fellow of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and the Higher Education Academy.
