Victoria Souliman is Lecturer in French and Francophone Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia. She completed her PhD in Art History at the University of Sydney and Université Paris Cité. She is the author of Australian Women, Art and the Interwar Years: Migration and Identity (Routledge, 2026), which developed from her doctoral research and examines questions of national identity, expatriatism, and women’s agency within artistic exchanges between Australia and Britain in the early twentieth century. Her more recent research interests include the representation of female subjectivity and the legacy of surrealism in contemporary visual culture. Before joining the discipline of French and Francophone Studies, she lectured in Art History at the University of Sydney.
