DrThomas Readford

Tom was awarded his PhD in 2026 at the University of Sydney. His doctoral thesis, supervised by Dr Nicola Giannotti, Professor Martin Ugander and Professor Peter Kench, investigated non-invasive multimodal imaging biomarkers for high risk atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. His research spans CT, MRI, and hybrid imaging, with a particular interest in vulnerable plaque, risk stratification, and translating advanced imaging techniques into clinically practical tools that improve outcomes for patients at risk of stroke and myocardial infarction.

Tom is currently completing postdoctoral research at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, Sydney, where he holds an appointment as a visiting scientist in the Heart Valve Disease and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
