LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy

Dr Tania Gardner’s teaching philosophy is grounded in evidence-based practice, clinical relevance, and the preparation of confident, practice-ready physiotherapy graduates. She fosters an inclusive and supportive learning environment that develops students’ clinical skills, critical thinking, and professional identity. By emphasising lifelong learning, she encourages students to adapt, evolve, and contribute meaningfully to the physiotherapy profession.

A titled pain physiotherapist with over 30 years of clinical experience, Dr Gardner draws on her extensive expertise to deliver clinically focused, evidence-informed teaching within the physiotherapy curriculum. She leads, develops, and delivers chronic pain content in the Physiotherapy  programs.

Dr Gardner demonstrates a strong commitment to academic leadership as the Musculoskeletal Theme Curriculum Leader, Co-Director of the Neuromuscular Musculoskeletal (NMSK) Research Collaborative, and physiotherapy representative on the School of Health Sciences Teaching Advisory Group. Through these roles, she actively supports ongoing excellence in education across the School, Faculty, and University.
