RESEARCH INTERESTs

Dr Tania Gardner is a researcher in chronic pain management and digital health whose work focuses on advancing chronic pain assessment and the implementation of non-pharmacological, biopsychosocial models of care. Her research spans diverse clinical populations and healthcare settings, with a particular interest in how communication and therapeutic alliance influence health outcomes. She is committed to strengthening clinician capability in patient-centred, psychologically informed practice. Using qualitative research methods, she generates meaningful insights into patient and clinician experiences and care delivery to inform service improvement.

Her research evaluates goal-setting frameworks in musculoskeletal pain, implements stratified care models in rural healthcare, and strengthens post-surgical pain management. She also led and continues to oversee the ongoing evaluation of Reboot Online, a digital pain management program. Collectively, her work aims to enhance accessibility and promote equity in healthcare through innovative models of care.
