SERVICE & LEADERSHIP SUMMARy

Service

I have a strong record of professional service and leadership at national and international levels, contributing to the governance of major research initiatives, community coordination, equity and inclusion, and the strategic development of astronomical facilities and surveys. My service reflects a sustained commitment to strengthening the research environment, supporting early career researchers, and shaping the scientific direction of large collaborations.

My committee service includes senior leadership roles, most notably as Chair of the ASTRO 3D Early Career Researchers Committee (2023–2024), where I lead initiatives that support career development, representation, and community engagement for early career researchers across Australia. I also contribute to strategic planning and policy through membership of several national and institutional committees, including the Astronomy Australia Limited (AAL) German eROSITA Management Committee, the AAL Space Science Leads Committee (2025–present), and the Research Committee of the School of Physics (2024–present).

At ANU, I have been actively involved in committees focused on inclusion, diversity, and community building, including the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access Committee, Workplace Giving Committee, and the Recognition and Celebration of Diversity and Inclusion Committee. I also contributed to the successful Pleiades Awards Silver application for equity and inclusion within the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics in 2023.

My service further includes participation in scientific governance and community organisation through roles such as membership of the Astrophysics Distinguished Visitor Selection Committee (ANU), the ASA Sustainability Committee, the 4m Anglo-Australian Telescope Users Committee, and organising committees for major workshops, schools, and conferences (e.g. ASTRO 3D Science Meeting, Harley Wood School on Big Data, Observational Techniques Workshop).

Leadership

I have extensive leadership experience in the design, coordination, and scientific direction of major spectroscopic galaxy surveys, with a particular focus on survey strategy, target selection, and working group management. My roles combine scientific vision with operational leadership, bridging survey design, observing execution, and data exploitation.

I am a Founder, Executive member, and Head of the Target Selection Working Group for the Hector Galaxy Survey, where I play a central role in defining the scientific priorities, coordinating survey strategy, and developing target selection methodologies that maximise the survey’s scientific impact. I also serve as Team Leader of Hector observing runs (2022–present), leading in-person observing teams using the Hector/AAOmega+Spector instrumentation and ensuring efficient and high-quality data acquisition. In parallel, I am Principal Investigator of the 4MOST supplementary program “Tracing galaxy spin–filament alignments to probe galaxy transformation” (2025–present), where I lead the scientific design, survey strategy, and international collaboration for the program, and I am Head of the Galaxy Properties Working Group for the 4HS Galaxy Survey (2024–present).

I previously served as Principal Investigator of the MAGPI Redshift Galaxy Survey (2022–2024) and Leader of the Galaxy Environment Working Group for MAGPI (2022–2024).
