RESEARCH INTERESTs
I am an observational astrophysicist with research focused on galaxy evolution, galaxy groups and clusters, and the cosmic web. My work explores how galaxies form and transform across different environments through a multi-scale approach that connects internal galaxy properties, such as kinematics and star formation, with the role of environment and cosmic structures.
Key research interests include:
- Galaxy spin–filament alignments: Understanding how galaxy angular momentum aligns with the cosmic web, and how these alignments inform models of galaxy formation and intrinsic alignments in weak lensing studies.
- Cosmic web: Characterising the influence of filaments, walls, and nodes on galaxy growth, morphology, star formation, and quenching.
- Galaxy kinematics: Using gas and stellar kinematics to trace mass assembly histories and baryonic processes across environments and redshift.
- Intrinsic alignments: Quantifying intrinsic galaxy alignments to improve cosmic shear measurements and forecasts for upcoming cosmological surveys.
- Spectroscopic survey science: Developing strategies to maximise scientific return from next-generation facilities (e.g., 4MOST, Wide-field Spectroscopic Telescope (WST)), especially for spatially-resolved and multiplexed spectroscopy.
