SERVICE & LEADERSHIP SUMMARy
Professor Gainsbury provides research leadership at institutional, national, and international levels.
She is Co-Editor-in-Chief of International Gambling Studies and Associate Editor for Psychology of Addictive Behaviors. She serves on advisory and policy committees across Australia and internationally, contributing expertise on gambling regulation, digital environments, and harm prevention.
As Director of the Gambling Treatment and Research Clinic, she leads a team of clinical and research staff delivering specialist treatment services while conducting applied research. This embedded model enables direct translation between clinical practice, behavioural research, and policy evaluation.
She has provided expert advice to governments and regulatory bodies in Australia and internationally and has contributed written submissions and testimony to parliamentary and regulatory inquiries.
Professor Gainsbury has also acted as an independent subject matter expert in legal proceedings in Australia and New Zealand, providing written expert reports and courtroom testimony on matters relating to gambling harms, digital environments, and consumer protection.
