SERVICE & LEADERSHIP SUMMARy

Associate Professor Mohammad Saadatfar contributes to academic service and leadership across education, research, equity, mentoring, industry engagement and public communication.

 

He has served as Director of Learning and Teaching in the School of Civil Engineering, contributing to curriculum quality, tutor development, student feedback, unit review and education planning. He also established the Civil Student Advisory Committee to strengthen student voice and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

 

He has contributed to School and Faculty governance through service on Civil Engineering committees, including External Engagement, Education and Research, and through membership of the Faculty Local Promotions Committee for Level D. He currently serves as an advisor in the University’s Advisor and Advisee programme, supporting colleagues in academic planning, development and career reflection.

 

As a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA), he brings recognised commitment to teaching, learning and academic development. His broader service includes HDR panel leadership, mentoring early career researchers, reviewing grants and journal manuscripts, engaging with industry and clinical partners, and communicating science and engineering to wider audiences.
