DrMike Seymour

Mike Seymour is an engaged academic leader committed to connecting research, education, industry, and the wider community. He is Academic Lead for the Business Information Systems Discipline within the School of Strategy, Innovation and Technology at the University of Sydney Business School. As Co-founder of the Motus Lab, he has helped establish a leading centre for engaged research that brings together academics, students, industry partners, clinicians, and community organisations to address real-world challenges using AI and Digital Human technologies.

Within the University, Mike contributes to Academic leadership, governance, curriculum development, and student engagement. He serves on both the University of Sydney Academic Board and the Business School Faculty Board and has played key roles in curriculum review, program design, and student outreach.

Internationally, he contributes to the Information Systems discipline through conference leadership, editorial service, peer review, and invited keynote presentations. Beyond academia, he is a frequent public commentator on AI and emerging technologies, promoting responsible innovation and helping translate university research into societal impact.
