Physiotherapy profession:
- PEDro: PEDro is the preeminent global resource for physiotherapy practice and one of only two professional partners of the global peak body for physiotherapy, World Physiotherapy. Used from >218 countries, PEDro is a free, online, and curated database that provides easy access to high-quality clinical research to guide the practise and teaching of physiotherapy. I have been a supporter of PEDro since its inception 25 years ago. In 2022 I took on the role of Chairperson of the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) Education and Training Subcommittee. During my tenure as Chairperson, we produced an evidence-based physiotherapy practice course for the Australian Physiotherapy Association and ran a global social media campaign to tackle barriers to evidence-based practice. I transitioned to lead the education portfolio on the PEDro Steering Committee in 2023 (current).
- APA: I am a member of the leadership team of the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s disability group (2022-current). In this role I provide advice and advocacy for our profession in the disability sector and coordinate education activities.
WHO: I currently serve as an Executive Member and Thematic Lead for physical activity among people with disabilities in the WHO Collaborating Centre for Physical Activity, Nutrition and Obesity (2025-2029).
