Research projects & supervision summary
Kimberley leads a sustained program of research in paediatric neuro‑oncology speech pathology through her role as Director of the NeuroKids Research Laboratory. Her research includes national and international collaborative projects spanning observational studies, clinical trials, guideline development, and implementation research focused on improving long‑term outcomes for children surviving cancer and acquired brain injury.
She is an investigator on major competitive research initiatives, including national clinical trials consortia and multidisciplinary projects addressing quality of life, survivorship, and rehabilitation in childhood cancer. Her research program is characterised by strong consumer involvement, multidisciplinary collaboration, and a focus on translation into clinical practice and health systems.
Kimberley has an extensive record of higher degree and Honours supervision, with students working within active research programs. Her supervision is associated with high completion rates, first‑class Honours outcomes, University Medals, competitive scholarships, and student‑led peer‑reviewed publications. She is committed to integrating research training with real‑world clinical and translational research, supporting the development of clinician‑researchers and future academic leaders in the field.
