RESEARCH INTERESTs

Kellie is a passionate medical educator and has established a research program aimed to investigate educational innovations and approaches to improving health professional graduate preparation for best practices in the quality use of medicines in the hospital and community settings.

  • Research interests for this project include - prescribing competency preparation, clinical pharmacology, inter-professional teamwork, shared professional models of care, education interventions. 
  • Research outputs associated with this project - 6 peer-reviewed publications, 2 research grants, 6 oral presentations (prescribing competencies), 7 oral presentations (inter-professional learning)

 

Kellie has recently returned to Australia following an 8 week Churchill Fellowship (Dec 2024) researching the systems and skills required for higher education academics to include new AI-based technologies into teaching curriculum and assessments. She is currently exploring new approaches in utilising digital technologies to address the regional rural - metropolitan city divide for compassionate, research-led healthcare delivery. 

  • Research interests for this project include - AI use in education, assessment redesign, student and community partnerships for co-design of studies, simulated patient experience, ethical and social responsibilities of AI use in education, storytelling research, social research methodologies, medical humanities. 
  • Research outputs from this study - 1 publication, 1 keynote presentation and 7 oral presentations or workshops and one national funded fellowship
