Katrien Stevens received her PhD in Economics from University College London in 2009. Her research interests are in the area of applied microeconomics, with a special interest in labour economics, education, fertility, gender, housing and policy-related issues, using applied microeconometric methods, She is currently working on projects related to homelessness, heterogeneity in immigrant assimilation in the labour market, the role of unions in worker satisfaction, and aspects of crime displacement. Previous projects include the career cost of children, the role of school starting age in child cognitive development, gender differences in negotiation over pay and the gender wage differential, and the monotonicity assumption in IV & RD designs.
