RESEARCH INTERESTs

Professor Bloomfield's research background and interests focus on three major areas.

 

She is an active researcher in the area of health profession education and has a strong interest in Interprofessional learning (IPL). She is a member of a core interprofessional team of academics who have developed, implemented and evaluated a number of large-scale IPL initiatives with students from a broad range of health-related disciplines.In 2018 and 2019 the work of this team was recognised with Faculty Awards for Excellence.

 

Her second research interest is supportive care for patients with cancer. She is particularly interested in how nurses can be educated and supported to care for patients in the cancer and palliative care setting. Professor Bloomfield is a fellow in the Cancer Nursing Research Unit (CNRU).

 

Jacqueline also has a strong interest in nursing workforce development specifically  in the areas of internationally qualified nurses and national educational standards and accreditation.
