BIO

Corinne Caillaud is a professor in physical activity and digital health in the Sydney School of Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine and Health. She is a member of the Charles Perkins Centre where she heads a research node dedicated to understanding the influence of place and context on lifestyle transitions in adolescents in Pacific Island. With more than 100 peer‑reviewed publications across high‑impact international journals, Professor Caillaud’s research investigates how digital technologies and social media influence physical activity behaviour and health outcomes in adolescents. Conducting place-based work in diverse settings enables a better understanding of physical activity erosion through westernisation, technological transitions and climate change. Her work takes place in Australia, New Caldeonia and Vanuatu.

Her research approach is characterised by strong interdisciplinary collaboration and long‑standing engagement with global partners, consistently underpinned by national and international competitive funding.

Beyond her research, Professor Caillaud is a known champion of equity and inclusion. She co‑founded the University of Sydney’s Mosaic Network, a groundbreaking initiative supporting culturally diverse staff and fostering an inclusive academic culture. She is also a dedicated mentor to women academics across the university and globally.

Professor Caillaud has also made significant contributions to education leadership. As Associate Dean Education for the Faculty of Health Sciences, she led the faculty’s education strategy and guided its implementation. Her leadership enhanced the student experience through peer‑mentoring programs, renewed curriculum, and the establishment of a vibrant community of practice for teaching staff.
