A novel neuro-cardiac self-regulation therapy to improve function after spinal cord injury (SCI): Clinical trials and translation to implementation (SMART Trial). Arandomised controlled trial investigating the efficacy of a novel self-regulation intervention using heart and respiratory feedback for improving neural and mental function in adults with SCI.
Phase 1 –Improving rehabilitation outcomes in adults with SCI who have cognitive impairment: a prospective study. Alongitudinal study aiming at assessing the extent and contributors to cognitive impairment in adults with SCI, and developing multidisciplinary guidelines for improved cognitive and psychosocial management of people with SCI (2022 version).
Phase 2 – Improving rehabilitation outcomes in adults with SCI who have cognitive impairment: Applying evidence-based practice through an implementation science lens. A project employing a mixed methods approach to determine the efficacy of the implementation and translation of the SCI cognitive and psychosocial guidelines, into the SCI Units in Sydney, NSW.
The impact of psychological distress on recovery from injuries sustained in a traffic crash (The IMPRINT Study). A prospective controlled study investigating psychological health and recovery after traffic injuries using an integrated biopsychosocial approach with a focus on psychosocial contributors and physiological stress markers, and including comparisons to a non-injury population.
Surveillance Study to Determine the Accuracy of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI) Diagnosis in Emergency Departments. Australian-first study investigating the accuracy of mTBI diagnosis and implementation of post-traumatic amnesia screening in three Emergency Departments in Sydney, NSW, Australia.
New Compulsory Third Party Reform Evaluation Project (N-CTP-REP). A cohort study investigating health and social outcomes after road crash injury in the new 2017 (Compulsory Third Party)CTP Scheme (N-CTP),and comparing outcomes with the pre-reform study "Factors influencing social and health outcomes after motor vehicle crash injury: an inception cohort study protocol" (FISH study).
