Research projects & supervision summary
Dr Fernando’s current projects focus on the implementation and evaluation of AI-supported assessment and feedback systems in engineering and health-related disciplines. This includes work on institutional guidelines for AI use, scalable feedback tools, and assessment frameworks that maintain academic integrity while supporting student learning.
He supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students in projects related to engineering education, applied AI in health and education, and interdisciplinary biomedical engineering topics. He is particularly interested in supervising students working at the intersection of technical development, pedagogy, and real-world healthcare or educational impact.
