RESEARCH INTERESTs

Dr Angelis’ research focuses on improving the quantitative accuracy, reproducibility, and clinical utility of PET imaging. His methodological interests include PET image reconstruction, numerical optimisation algorithms, pharmacokinetic and parametric modelling, and the development of advanced tools for analysing high-dimensional dynamic imaging data. He works extensively on Total Body PET applications, including blood-flow and metabolic imaging, dual-isotope protocols, and the development of harmonisation strategies for multi-centre and preclinical PET systems. He is also exploring model-based and machine-learning–assisted approaches for predicting input functions, denoising dynamic PET signals, and enhancing low-dose CT–based attenuation correction.
