SERVICE & LEADERSHIP SUMMARy

Dr Garrido has a strong record of service and leadership across the university, health, and community sectors. She held several senior academic leadership roles at Western Sydney University including Acting Director of Academic Program (Undergraduate Years 1–3), Deputy Director (Research) at the MARCS Institute, and Deputy Program Leader for the Music, Cognition & Action research program. She serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and has contributed to editorial and committee roles with AMPS, MSA, and Musicae Scientiae. She is currently a board member of the Australian Arts Health Network of NSW and ACT (AAHNNA). She also served as STEM Ambassador to the Australian Parliament, (2023-2025) facilitating evidence-informed policy discussions on youth mental health and digital wellbeing.
