BIO
Ronald Castelino is an Associate Professor and Head of Pharmacy Practice & Health Services Research at the School of Pharmacy, University of Sydney. He is a practising specialist renal pharmacist at Blacktown Hospital (2016-present) and has an established track record in translational research relevant to kidney medicine. He has extensive experience in conducting health services and implementation research aimed at improving medication safety and the quality use of medicines for people with kidney disease across healthcare settings.
A/Prof Castelino currently serves as the pharmacy department representative on the Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital Research Committee (2018-present) and has previously served on the inaugural Specialist Nephrology Pharmacists Leadership Group of Advanced Pharmacy Australia (2018-2020), the peak professional body for hospital pharmacy in Australia.
A/Prof Castelino completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy (2003), Masters in Pharmacy Practice (2006) from India and PhD from the University of Sydney in 2011. After the completion of his PhD, he moved to the University of Tasmania (UTAS, 2011-2016) as a Lecturer in Therapeutics at the School of Medicine. At UTAS, he was involved in teaching therapeutics to 3rd & 4th year Pharmacy students and 3rd year Medicine students. He returned to the University of Sydney as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy in 2016.
