RESEARCH INTERESTs

Praveena Chandra's research portfolio stands on two pillars. The first pillar examines the attributes of successful innovations. Technological innovations change our lifestyles, attitudes, and thinking and may be described as unseen forces that shape our world. Understanding how an innovation operates may help us forecast its impact and manage resources wisely. In this line of enquiry, her PhD explored how knowledge accumulation leads to successful innovations. She continues to explore other such attributes of successful innovations.

The second pillar of her research portfolio focuses on developing scholarship on the pedagogy of innovation and interdisciplinary education. There is a growing awareness towards the importance of imparting innovation skills to students. Most educational institutions around the world have now incorporated innovation education in their curriculums across different disciplines. Interdisciplinarity, which is an essential aspect of innovation education is also steadily gaining importance. It is therefore important to understand how students learn in interdisciplinary settings, and what are the optimal teaching techniques. To achieve this, it is important to examine all the elements involved in such education programs.
