LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy

Since 2005, Peres Da Costa has delivered one-to-one lessons and seminars to undergraduate and postgraduate students covering early keyboards 1700-1900, HIP, and music history.

He has supervised 4 PhDs (3 as lead supervisor), 8 Masters and 4 Honours to completion. He is currently supervising 4 PhDs (one as lead supervisor), 1 DMA and 2 Masters. He has provided many PhD and other HDR students with academic teaching opportunities including tutoring work at undergraduate level, developing creative research work outputs in which they have an active role as a performer, and employing them as research assistants on grant work. He is also working towards co-authored journal publications with his students. Peres Da Costa's research leadership attracted Australian Government Endeavour Award Scholar Inja Davidovich (University of Sheffield) to study with him for 2 semesters in 2016. And he is continually contacted to supervise HDR students. Notably, he supervised Dr Robin Wilson - Professor of Violin at the Australian National Academy of Music, who will shortly take up two pestigious posts at the Menhuin School and teh Royal Academy of Music - who won the 2014 Geiringer Scholarship for the best PhD chapter.
