RESEARCH INTERESTs
Nam Ho-Nguyen’s research focuses on stochastic, robust and data-driven optimization techniques for decision-making under uncertainty.
Mathematical optimization is a powerful tool used to solve quantitative decision-making problems across a wide variety of industries, including agriculture, finance, healthcare, mining, technology, and transportation. However, many decisions must be made in uncertain and dynamic environments. Models for decision-making must take into account uncertainty in order to improve the quality of the chosen decision.
Nam seeks to utilise techniques from statistics and machine learning, combined with traditional optimization techniques, to improve the scope, applicability and computational tractability of quantitative decision-making models that are subject to parameter or constraint uncertainty.
