RESEARCH INTERESTs

Lucy's research lies at the intersection of hydrology, environmental modelling, and statistical analysis, with a focus on improving water resource management in Australia's highly variable climate. She is recognised as a leading Australian expert in the application of Bayesian methods for model inference and calibration in water resources engineering. Her work is driven by a strong interest in the sustainable management of Australia's limited natural resources, particularly in understanding the dynamics of water systems and improving the forecasting of water availability.

Lucy develops innovative approaches to quantify available water resources - whether through new conceptualisations of hydrologic processes, novel hydrological models, enhanced analysis of field observations, or refined diagnostic and uncertainty assessment techniques. Her methodological contributions include the development and application of Bayesian and multi-model methods for model diagnostics, calibration, and decision support in hydrology.
