BIO

I am a bioethicist, medical practitioner and Clinical Associate Professor in the Sydney Medical School Northern Clinical School and the Charles Perkins Centre. My research focus is critical evaluation of healthcare practice, policy and evidence. I use qualitative research methods to explore threats to the integrity of our scientific evidence base and commercial influences over health policy and practice.

I am a practising medical clinician, working in oncology. I obtained my medical degree from the University of Tasmania and my doctorate in Public Health Ethics from the University of Sydney, on bioethics in breast screening. I have worked and studied in Hobart, Oxford and Sydney.

I co-chair the Evidence Synthesis Node at the Charles Perkins Centre.
