I joined the University of Sydney in 2011. Since 2022, I have directed the Sydney Social Sciences and Humanities Advanced Research Centre (SSSHARC), which has a remit to support research collaboration, innovation and impact. I continue to research in sexuality studies and film studies but much of my time is taken in seeding large interdisciplinary projects which others may lead. With Victoria Rawlings, I conceived and directed the Hunt-Simes Institute in Sexuality Studies (HISS), a queer normal school  that ran for three years (2023-25). HISS involved 70+ emerging and established queer researchers, many of them from Critical Education Studies.
