Research projects & supervision summary
Katina has received over $8.5 million (AU) in grant funding. The vast majority of this funding was received within small transdisciplinary teams at Arizona State University. She was a Co-PI on the Smart Cities and User-Centred Design grant in 2018, and a teaching collaborator on the Medical Devices Human-Centred Mindset grant in 2022- two large scale $3M (USD) National Science Foundation Research Traineeships, respectively. Together with collaborators all over the world, she has been successful in receiving competitive funding from the USA, Canada, England, Australia and the UAE. She puts this down to her research versatility as a transdisciplinary scholar. Funding is increasingly hard to come by, but research outcomes and impact can continue years after a grant's funding cycle has ended.
