I have a number of projects based on understanding how galaxies form and evolve. Particularly around how accretion of gas drives star formation and galaxy morphology.

    Project leaders:
    • Bryant J
I develop instrumentation for astronomical telescopes, primarily based on new photonic technologies. Current key projects include development of high throughput optical fibre connectors for astronomy, and development of new infrared optical fibre devices for astronomy. My team runs a complex optical fibre characterisation facility.
