BIO
I am a Cancer Institute NSW Early Career Fellow, working at the Radiation Physics Laboratory with Prof. Paul Keall. I am spearheading the development of a novel functional lung imaging technology, computed tomography ventilation imaging (CT-VI) that could enable improved treatment outcomes for 10,000+ lung cancer radiotherapy patients each year.
My first postdoctoral role was as Assistant Professor at Kyoto University (2009-2010), which followed on from a PhD in Plasma Physics at the University of Sydney (2007-2009). This work focused on nuclear emission spectroscopy of small-scale fusion reactors, which inspired my interest in the humane applications of particle accelerator technology and my transition into the medical imaging field. Since joining the Radiation Physics Laboratory in 2012, I have been developing an upward trajectory in medical imaging, contributing to 7 peer-review articles in international medical physics journals, including 2 as first author and one as senior author.
