LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy

In 2023, John is teaching Quantum nanoscience (Honours level: PHYS4126; Graduate level: PHYS5126). He is also coordinating the experimental project for Interdisciplinary Physics (3rd year: PHYS3888) in both Semesters 1 and 2. In Semester 1, students will partner with students from DATA3888 to build a computer-brain interface, and in Semester 2,students will partner with students from CHEM3888 to propose and investigate innovative applications of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).

As Director of the new Quantum Integration Lab housed in the Sydney Nanoscience Hub, John offers research projects in theoretical and experimental aspects of quantum networking. These typically focus on designing and creating interactions between photons and optically accessible spins embedded in crystals and can be tailored for all levels (Dalyell, SSP, Senior projects, Honours, MPhil, and PhD).
