RESEARCH INTERESTs
Creating connections between remote quantum systems will be central to building large scale quantum computers and probing fundamental quantum mechanics. Scaling up quantum entanglement beyond isolated systems will require high performance qubits, interfaces between qubits and photons, sources of entanglement and transducers to convert between different operating regimes. John's interest is building up sophisticated quantum networks throughengineering quantum hardware and leveraging these devices to discover new physics.
John's research aligns with the Faculty of Science Research Strengths - Fundamental Laws of Nature, Quantum Frontiers, Data and Decisions.
