Research‑led educator and mentor, focused on developing independent scientific leaders in translational cancer research
Supervision and mentoring of:
  • 8 PhD completions (5 as primary supervisor; additional current PhD students)
  • Masters and Honours students
  • Postdoctoral fellows progressing to independent investigator roles
Students have progressed to:
  • NHMRC and Cancer Institute NSW fellowships and Investigator Grants
  • International postdoctoral positions (including the US National Cancer Institute)
  • Senior industry, clinical and academic leadership roles

 

Co-founder and leader of training environments embedded within large translational programs (e.g. Personalised Immunotherapy Program), exposing trainees to:
  • Biomarker discovery and multi‑omic integration
  • Clinical trial design and implementation
  • Multidisciplinary team leadership and consumer engagement

 

Active mentor of mid‑career researchers, supporting transition to supervisory roles and program independence
 
Invited lecturer and workshop leader in cancer immunology, genomics, spatial biology and translational research
 
Capacity building leadership through:
  • Organisation of national and international conferences and workshops
  • Advisory roles enabling access to advanced genomics, single‑cell and spatial biology infrastructure
