SERVICE & LEADERSHIP SUMMARy
Jacob has served the university broadly in his time here, including:
• Serving as an engineering supervisor in the Jacaranda Flame Consulting program in the Winter Break of 2025, supervising 3 student groups of 5-8 students as they completed their internships
• Serving as President of the Postgraduate Research in Engineering Education Society (PRESS) from 2024 – 2025, organising academic and social events for the Engineering HDR students, including organising the annual HDR Conference that was attended by more than 100 students.
• Serving the University of Sydney by writing articles for Teaching@Sydney
• Serving the Public by sharing my knowledge with the Media
• Serving on the Student Appeals Body in 2024
• Serving on the Workload Allocation Committee in 2024
• Serving as a Faculty Communicator in 2023-2024, visiting high schools and hosting high school students to help them understand what Engineering is like.
• Serving as a Civil Engineering HDR Representative from 2023-2024
• Serving on the HDR Student Representative Committee from 2023-2024
• Serving on the Research Education Committee from 2023-2024
