Research projects & supervision summary

Sydney Brainomics has a range projects in alcohol-related brain damage (ARBD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD)" where we model disease progression comparing areas with differing severities of pathology at post-mortem. We use combinations of multiplex immunofluorescence and single cell and spatial biology platforms to identify key pathogenic mechanims, as the basis for new therapeutic directions. Specifically we are interested in "the pathogenesis of white matter loss in ARBD" and cell cross talk in AD. We are increasingly using  machine learning in our projects and validate our work via large international datasets (e.g. UK Biobank and ROSMAP studies).
