RESEARCH INTERESTs
Student learning: Development of strategies and resources to assist students to learn the language of anatomy and medicine. Developing the ability of students to use their spatial understanding of 3D anatomy to interpret 2D images such as radiographs and CT. Exploring student responses to diverse body morphologies to enhance students' learning experience and future clinical practice. Using immersive technologies to develop empathy in medicine and health students.
Transitioning to university: Researching and designing ‘real life’ learning activities that scaffold and build students’ confidence as problem solvers, independent learners, and develop student’s clinical communication skills.
Understanding and improving electronic feedback to students: With the transition to large cohort and online teaching there has been a shift to the provision of electronic feedback which, by necessity, accelerated dramatically during 2020. Recent studies found that students more used to online marking have higher expectations of e-feedback.
