Strategic Leadership
Professor Pasupathy completed the Global Executive MBA at the University of Sydney Business School, further strengthening his capability in strategic academic and health leadership reflecting his commitment to integrating clinical practice, academic scholarship, and strategic innovation to advance women’s and newborn health in a rapidly evolving global context.

Clinical Expertise and Service Development
Professor Pasupathy undertook undergraduate and postgraduate medical training at leading centres across the United Kingdom, including Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge and London. He completed a Maternal–Fetal Medicine Fellowship at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Before joining Westmead Hospital, he was Consultant in Maternal–Fetal Medicine at Guy’s & St Thomas’, where he led the Diabetes Antenatal Service (a Tommy’s Diabetes Research Clinic) and served as Training Programme Director for Maternal–Fetal Medicine. Since 2012, he has trained six Maternal–Fetal Medicine fellows now practising as senior consultants in tertiary units across the UK, Ireland, and Australia. In Australia, he has supported the leadership at Fetal Medicine Units at Westmead and Canberra, contributing to improved service organisation and clinical performance. His national contributions include serving as the inaugural Obstetric Lead for the National Maternity and Perinatal Audit (2016–2020), one of the largest international quality-improvement initiatives in maternity and neonatal care in the UK. In New South Wales, he has held appointments to several state committees, including the Maternal Perinatal Mortality Review Committee, the Perinatal Mortality Review Committee (Deputy Chair), the Hypoxic-Ischaemic Encephalopathy Topic Expert Group, and the NSW Maternity Safety Intelligence Committee. His current national roles include appointments with the ANZNN Surgical Executive and the Australian Living Evidence Collaboration (LEAPP).
