2025 saw the reaslisation of a major 4 year project called "Duet for One".

Duet for One is a solo live cinematic multimedia concert. It features virtuoso pianist Sonya

Lifschitz performing live in "duet" with film of herself playing in far-flung locations in the

Australian bush. It includes live performance, projected images, sound design and ritual theatre.

The loosely narrative show is structured around a series of new musical compositions by

Damian Barbeler each of which is connected by short interludes: in film or ritual theatre, etc.

The show was filmed, composed and devised, in part, during field trips conducted by Damian

Barbeler with Sonya Lifschitz and Tim Gruchy in various contrasting Australian landscapes.
