Dr med vet, DipECVIM-CA, GradCertEdStud(Higher Ed.), FHEA

Christine is a specialist (DipECVIM-CA) and an Associate Professor in Small Animal Medicine. She has previously worked at Universities in Germany with a short stint in private practice before joining The University of Sydney in 2013. Christine works at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney (UVTHS) in the small animal referral medicine service where she sees referral consultations and teaches residents, interns and final year DVM students. Christine is the program director of the ECVIM-CA internal medicine residency program and has successfully trained numerous residents. She is passionate about teaching final year veterinary students first day competencies by actively involving them in consultations and work up of clinical cases seen at the UVTHS. While Christine has previously conducted research in canine hyperadrenocorticism and immune mediated haemolytic anaemia, she quickly became the point of contact for all questions relating to canine leptospirosis after this long neglected highly fatal infectious disease emerged in urban Sydney dogs in 2019. Christine has since established herself as the leading canine leptospirosis researcher in Australia and her research has not only contributed to public awareness but also to development of a new leptospirosis vaccine.
