SERVICE & LEADERSHIP SUMMARy

• Justice reform and training – delivers regular training for NSW Police in the Forensic (Child) Interviewing Course, the Detective Trainings Unit, and the Domestic Violence Investigators Workshop. Moroever provides training for judicial bodies on memory, interviewing, and trauma-informed practice.

 

• Community engagement – outreach through NAPCAN's Love Bites DFV prevention workshops (teaching high school students about healthy relationships and consent) and presentations at national forums (e.g., NDIS caseworker DFV forum, Forensic Medical Practitioners meetings).

 

• Global impact – research cited in court decisions, adopted into police training manuals internationally, and influencing law reform debates.

 

For example (but not limited to):

• Co-author of the White Paper on Forensic Child Interviewing (2024), now adopted by multiple European police forces and NSW Child Abuse Squad training.

• Research cited in Supreme Court judgment (Sheer v Jeffreys, 2024) and the Australian Law Reform Commission Report on Sexual Violence.
