ProfessorArchil Kobakhidze

Professor Kobakhidze founded the Theoretical Particle Physics Group at the University of Sydney in 2012 and currently leads its vibrant scientific program. He is a co-founder of the Sydney Consortium for Particle Physics and Cosmology (Sydney CPPC), a cross-institutional alliance between the particle physics and cosmology groups at the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales.

He serves as an Australian representative on the Asia–Pacific Particle Phenomenology Group and as an editor for the open-access journal Universe. He is also a referee for a major scientific journal in high-energy physics and an external reviewer for the Australian Research Council and other international funding agencies.

Previously, he served as Associate Head of the School of Physics and as a member of the School Executive Committee (2000–2004), and as Chair of the Australian Institute of Physics Theoretical Physics Topical Group (2023–2024).
