Ana Vila Concejo is a Professor in the School of Geosciences at the University of Sydney, where she is Deputy Head of School. Ana co-leads the Geocoastal Research Group, is the Deputy Director of One Tree Island Research Station and Co-Director of the Marine Studies Institute. Ana’s research is on the geomorphology of coasts in temperate and tropical environments, including beaches, especially those in estuaries and bays, and coral reefs and how they are affected by climate change. Ana is internationally recognised by her research on eco-morphodynamics of coral reefs, and other nature-based solutions. Ana led the founding of Women in Coastal Geosciences and Engineering, a network advocating for gender diversity with over 600 members worldwide. She also co-hosts the science podcast Coast2Cast.
