BIO

Ana Paula Carvalho-e-Silva is a part-time Research Fellow at the School of Health Sciences, The University of Sydney, Australia. She is a physiotherapist and holds multiple health-related degrees, with further qualifications in progress, and has experience across clinical practice and research in musculoskeletal health.

Ana has experience working in primary care and multidisciplinary healthcare settings, including collaboration with physiotherapists and other allied health professionals. Her research focuses on implementation science and musculoskeletal health, with a particular interest in improving the uptake of evidence-based guidelines into routine clinical care.

She has led the implementation of whiplash clinical guidelines across diverse stakeholders, including different professional disciplines (physiotherapy, exercise physiology, and chiropractic) and insurers. She has also led the reporting of these projects for the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) and Allianz.

Ana has contributed to the development and dissemination of the My Whiplash Navigator (MWN), a digital platform designed to support guideline-based care for both clinicians and patients. She has supported the delivery of multiple educational workshops and has worked alongside clinicians to facilitate the implementation of best-practice care.

She is also the site lead for the StressModEx project, funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) and led through The University of Queensland.

Her research interests include implementation strategies in healthcare, clinician behaviour change, digital health interventions, and improving patient outcomes in musculoskeletal conditions through integrated models of care.
